John J. Genoble, Jr. is rejoining the firm following his retirement from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). John served with the FBI for more than two decades as a Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent, Division Counsel and Assistant Inspector in Place, among other positions or roles. As a Supervisory Special Agent assigned to FBI Headquarters, John oversaw the Criminal Investigative Division's Public Corruption and Government Fraud Programs, and, the Information Technology Applications and Data Divisions operations in support and ongoing development of the enterprise's case management applications. As Division Counsel (in-house counsel) assigned to the Newark and San Juan Field Offices, John counseled management and personnel in support of each of the FBI's programs to include collaborating on, reviewing and/or approving the opening of matters and the use of the FBI's investigative tools and techniques. As Division Counsel, John provided ethics, compliance and privacy guidance and was involved in internal/personnel and security matters. As Division Counsel, in addition to administrative matters, John was involved in criminal and civil matters in several states as well as before several United States Circuit Courts of Appeals and before a foreign government's trial and appellate courts. For the Human Resources Division John as Division Counsel was assigned to FBI Headquarters to perform appellate reviews of personnel disciplinary matters. For the Inspection Division John as an Assistant Inspector in Place was assigned to several locations to review various programs/events. As a Special Agent, John was assigned to the New York and Newark Field Offices where he conducted internal/personnel, security and White Collar Crime investigations, as well as to the Counterterrorism Division at FBI Headquarters to support Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Prior to his FBI service, John was a Partner with Johnson, Murphy, Hubner McKeon, Wubbenhorst and Appelt (the firm's predecessor) where he served for nearly a decade as Assistant General Counsel to a regional Trauma/Medical Center, Assistant Special County Counsel/litigation counsel for two northern New Jersey counties, as well as litigation counsel for an intergovernmental/joint insurance fund and a commercial insurer. John also maintained the Law Office of John J. Genoble, his father's solo general practice.
John is admitted to practice in New Jersey.
